Blog Tour & Giveaway: Review of Save Me From Me by Erika Ashby

Dani refuses to lose another parent due to her absence from their life. After pulling herself back together following the death of her father, she moves back to her childhood town to live with her mom. She’s slowly pulled back into the lifestyle she worked so hard to get away from ten years ago. She accepts that this is the life she has always been destined to live. Getting a job at the store down the road and hooking back up with her first love Gage, seems to be the logical way to go…that is until she meets Holden Reynolds.

Now that Holden is finally back home from the Navy he plans on following in his father’s footsteps. Still trying to move on from the one woman who had his heart, he busies himself in work and returning to the country boy lifestyle he’s always loved. The best way to get over someone is to get under someone, right? That’s his mindset as he travels town to town with his job perfectly content with being a rambling man…that is until he meets Danielle Brooks.

When Dani isn't leaving and Holden isn't staying will they be able to keep themselves from getting too attached? Or will they be just what each other needs to cut all the strings that have them bound?

“You can’t save me from me, Holden.” -Dani

Christina says...

Dani thought getting out of town and moving on to bigger and better things was just what she needed.

“Don’t live your life for anyone else but you.” – Dani’s Father
But when her father passes away, she is pulled back to a life she left for 10 years.  Back to a town that she just wanted to get away from. Without looking back she had left friends, family and one guy who thought she was his world.  But when she gets there, she is in for a roller coaster ride.
“ I could never forget anything about you, Danielle. Even after ten years, you’re still there. You’re everywhere.”

But Dani doesn’t want to live in the past, she wants to move forward in life. Even trapped in this small town she is determined to make something of herself. Unfortunately she is in a rut and can’t do that, she feels the need to protect her mom and everyone around her.  The guy she left behind  10 years ago is still in love with her and can’t let her go. Bound to fight for her affection every chance he gets. But Dani, doesn’t want to lead him on. She isn’t sure he is who she is meant to be with.

“Yes, I do but we can’t change the past. It is what it is. And we can’t live in it either. That won’t move us forward. Living on lost hopes, dreams, and what-ifs is pointless. Sometimes life just sucks, and we have to roll with it. Constantly fighting against the current is so tiring.”

Meet Holden, a sexy confident Oilfield worker/pipeliner.  Holden has had his fair share of hurt in life. When his cousin up and married the girl he loved it broke Holden. Since then he has served time in the navy and started working for his dad’s company. He travels from town to town doing whatever work needs to be done at each location.

When they meet there is an electricity that just buzzes around them. They are drawn to each other but at the same time keep their distance.  But once they come together its magic. These two are definitely made for each other. They light each other up like you would not believe.  But Dani isn’t selfish she wants everyone to be happy. She always puts herself last in the equation and in doing so could possibly ruin what good has come into her life.

“For once in your life, be selfish. Be selfish for me, Dani. Pick me. Tell me to stay. I need to hear you say it.”

I loved this book. I loved the ups and downs, the angst and the love between the characters. I had tears of joy and tears of sadness in this book. I think anyone who picks it up will be able to relate to the Dani’s struggle to find herself and her journey to happiness. I rate this book 4 stars! I can’t wait to see what Erika Ashby writes next!
