Blog Tour: The Redhead Plays Her Hand by Alice Clayton

The third sexy novel in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s playful and erotic Redhead series continues the sizzling romance between actress Grace Sheridan and Hollywood’s hottest leading man Jack Hamilton.

Grace has landed the lead in a new TV series—but when the director asks her to lose fifteen pounds, she goes public with her weight struggles and suddenly develops a huge fan club who support her right to have curves. But between that and the public’s continuing fascination with her “are they or aren’t they” relationship with Jack, Grace begins to wonder if anyone’s really interested in her because of her upcoming TV series, or if it’s all speculation about the size of her ass and her bedroom partner.

Meanwhile, Jack is voted the Sexiest Man Alive and becomes a little too enamored with the party-hard lifestyle. Grace vows to give him the space he needs to find himself, but then he begins to spiral down from lovable Brit to Hollywood brat. People are talking, but are Jack and Grace? Her career is on the rise, and his continues into the stratosphere, but will she be able to catch him if he falls? Will they ever be able to just be a couple who can hold hands when they walk down the street?

The Redhead Plays her Hand is book three in the Redhead Series.  You will need to read book one, The Unidentified Redhead and book two, The Redhead Revealed before you start this one.

First off I think everyone should read this series!  It is hilarious, seriously love it!  Grace Sheridan and Jack Hamilton are amazing together.  Grace is nine years Jack’s senior but they fit, they work and you will love them!  I love that Grace has issues that every girl has.  Her weight has been a bit of a struggle for her but she gets it under control and loves where she is at now.

Book three picks up with Grace, now the lead on a TV Series, Mabel’s Unstable.  Jack is in the process of filming his next movie.  Since he appeared in Time his success has been huge.  He’s earned the title “Sexiest Man on Earth”.  Keep in mind Jack is only twenty-four years old, so this rise to fame becomes a struggle for him.  His newest co-star, Adam Kasen, is getting back into stardom after losing some credibility for his behavior and is using Jack to get there.  The two are photographed out almost every night at clubs partying; Jack’s getting rude to his fans, and it just appears that he is crying out for help.   Grace being thirty-three, is a little more grounded and wants to help her George become who she knows he is. But Jack says it’s not a problem, he’s just living it up in Hollywood and releasing a little stress.  The story takes them on their ride of stardom.  Can they come out on top together with being super stars, the paparazzi, partying, and the age difference?

Throughout the book we get to see how Grace does with her rise to fame.  Her weight is an issue with her producers and though she does try to please them, in the end she tells them to “F” off, and stands her ground as a curvy woman.  LOOVVVEEE this.  Jack supports her in her decision; he loves Grace just the way she is…SWOON.  Speaking of loving her just the way she is…he is just as much in love with her “girls” as he has always been.  That brings us to the steamy scenes!  These two are just like horny teenagers..... I wouldn’t have it any other way!

We get more of our favorite characters, not just Grace and Jack.  Grace’s best friend and manager, Holly Newman, is back.  I love Holly and Grace’s friendship!  They are rude, crude, and love each other fierce.  Nick makes an appearance and as always he makes you laugh.  Lane comes back for a bit, I really wish we would get more of him… I want his story!  We get a lot more of Michael this time around.  You will be surprised where his part of the story happens, but I think you will really like it!  I sure did!

I’m not sure if we will be seeing more in the Redhead series but I hope so!  If you haven’t read these or anything from Alice Clayton you are missing out!  Pick these up today!

Fill up your wine glasses, put on your loungewear, and settle in for the third installment of Alice Clayton’s Redhead Series. The Redhead Plays Her Hand is immensely satisfying, hilarious, and another knockout novel in Grace and Jack’s story!

Grace Sheridan is the kind of female lead I want to tackle hug, chest bump, and spend a night out on the town with. Her career is on the rise as she lands a leading role in a fledgling sitcom. Despite finding herself thrust into the limelight, she’s still the same feisty redhead I developed a massive girl crush on and has the kind of quick wit and sarcasm I squeal over. She’s unapologetic to critics regarding her weight and curves. It was empowering to see her volley between conforming to the director’s demands to lose weight and coming to terms with her figure and what size is healthy for her. Jack is also at a pinnacle in his career. He’s the Sexiest Man Alive and must juggle the pressures of his heightened fame.

Both characters are faced with personal and professional struggles in the story. No Redhead story would be complete without a healthy dose of drama coupled alongside an abundance of laughter. I loved seeing how the couple dealt with the pressure of outside influences while still trying to maintain some sense of normalcy in their lives and relationship. Amid all the chaos, there are a few shocking hook ups and plot twists that were pure giddy bliss.

I loved The Redhead Plays Her Hand from cover to cover. It’s lighthearted, delectable, and the perfect anecdote for a book hangover. I’m a huge fan of The Redhead Series by Alice Clayton and the third installment exceeded my expectations and didn’t disappoint!

Alice Clayton is a novelist with an unholy love for her KitchenAid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!

After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and national educator for a major cosmetics company, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career, writer. Combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, The Redhead Series.

Alice has penned three novels, The Unidentified Redhead,The Redhead Revealed, and coming soon in November 2012, Wallbanger. She thinks you should purchase them immediately. She’s not kidding, not even a little bit. Everyone needs some comedic erotica in their lives. She is hard at work on the third book in The Redhead Series, set to release in Spring of 2013, continuing the saucy and sexual escapades of everyone’s favorite couple, Jack and Grace.

Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on Not Your Mother's Podcast, make sure you check them out at notyourmotherspodcast.com or over on iTunes. 3 women rushing towards their forties still acting like teenagers. A saucy little mix of sex, love, relationships, pop cultural, celebrity gossip and All Things Jake Ryan.

Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Mary’s, 8 hours of sleep, and a good pounding.

Finally Alice would also like all her readers and listeners to help her convince Mt. Alice that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog. She is totally serious. And done talking about herself in the third person…
