A new adult story of Love. Sex. Addiction. Blackmail. And Power...

Some say love can be an addiction. Others say it's the thing that makes life worth living. Let me tell you everything I know about love...Love isn't patient, love isn't kind. Love is a game, a chase. A thrill. Love is wild and war-like, and every man and woman must fight for themselves. At least that's how it was for me. A high-priced virgin call girl by the time I started college, I was addicted to love and to sex. Even though I've never had either. I controlled love, played it, and held the world in the palm of my hands. Then I fell down from those highs, and I'm being blackmailed for all my mistakes, forced to keep secrets from everyone, except the only guy I don't regret.

Trey...

With all the other women, I knew what they were. They were temporary. They were pills, they were bottles, they took away all the pain, and numbed the awful memories that wore down my ragged, wasted heart. Until I met Harley. She's the only girl I ever missed when she walked away. But now she's back in my life, every day, and there are no guarantees for us, especially since I don't know how to tell her my secrets. What happened to my family. All I know is she's the closest I've ever come to something real, and I want to feel every second of it.

How can you love with no regrets when regret is all you know?

The Thrill of It=Sex. War. Addiction. Love. Control. Blackmail. Secrets.

“Love isn’t patient, love isn’t kind. Love is a game, a case. A thrill. Love is wild and war-like, and every man and woman must fight for themselves.”

Harley “Layla” is a high-priced virgin call girl—WTF?!? I found to be a confusing, strange description. Seriously how can you be a virgin call girl and sex addict? But holy hell, it freakin worked. I was thrilled, addicted and consumed. She had a shit life. Was dealt a shit hand. In an attempt to feel, she used sex and love to cope and feel in control.
She didn’t know her father and her mother, Barb, was no mother at all!!! All she cared about were appearances, “She is an investigative reporter/whistleblower who exposes “evil behind closed doors”.

Trey used older women to numb the awful memories of his past. They took away his pain and heartbreak and helped him forget. He was broken.

They meet one night when Harley decides to get a tattoo and Trey is the artist who gives it to her, and meeting changed their lives. It was magical. They were just two people who connected…who didn’t want anything other than each other. They believe they would never see each other again.

Who knew that they would run into each other at SLAA meeting—Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous and become the best of friends.

“We could be friends maybe.”
She nods and smiles. “Yes. Let’s be friends.”

Flash forward six months later. Trey and Harley are walking together. Just this scene alone melted me. He holds her hand. He almost always holds her hand. And she didn’t want him to ever let go.

“Trey grips my hand tighter, looping his fingers through mine and I shiver. I’m not cold. It’s May, and it’s warm, and any kind of contact from him sends me soaring. The more I know him, the more I want him, and the more I can’t have him.”

FML I wanted them together so freakin bad. They were perfect for each other. And I LOVE TREY!!!! He is hot and perfect and walking sex.

He brings Harley to St. Patrick’s Cathedral where she meets regularly with the woman who is blackmailing her into writing a book “Memoirs of a Teenage Sex Addict”. This woman is the devil spawn.

“I’ve been summoned by my Dark Overlord, and I can’t say no.
“Such is the life of a former teenage call girl who’s being blackmailed.”

She is the freakin wicked witch of the west on crack. She gets off on hearing twisted, sordid details of Haley’s past.

“Make them tawdry. Make them sordid. Make them as lurid as they can be.”
Once Harley finishes her memoirs—she is free.

Throughout all of it, their bond grows stronger, deeper. It grows until it’s something more. Together, Harley and Trey are just incredible. And individually, each of them grow as well. I felt their love straight through to my gut.

“His legs are tangled with mine, his arms hold me close, and I don’t know where I end and he begins. He kisses my forehead, my cheeks, my hair, and I feel cared for in a way I never have.”

They both need this, they both want this. Can they have it? Can they get past the demons of their past? Or will the thrill of it die down and fizzle?

“It’s weird that one person can know your before and your wish for after.”

Lauren Blakely kicked some serious a$$ with this book! I cannot wait for Every Second With You, which needs to come out THIS SECOND!!! I love you Lauren!!!
