Blog Tour: Review of A Blue Tale by Sarah Dosher

The rock legend’s daughter…
Eli Blue Savage doesn’t trust musicians, especially those that idolize her dad. Her heart’s been broken by everyone she’s ever loved. Fairytale dreams and the music she locks inside her heart are all that keep her alive.

The musician with a dark past…
Deacon Chastain plays a blue guitar to match his rock idol, the man that saved him from a path of destruction. His life revolves around music; it’s the only thing that saves him from the darkness.

Hearts beat to the same rhythm…
Broken and scarred by their pasts, can they find a way to heal and move forward? No matter the adversity, even the hardest of hearts can be softened by love – music is easy; life is hard.

Elle says...

Passion. Tragedy. Music. This isn’t your every day rock star romance. A Blue Tale is author Sarah Dosher’s third novel and a hauntingly beautiful twist on happily ever after. Sarah Dosher has previously written two novels, Haven from the Storm and Before the Storm. This novel is more mature than the Storms of Life Series, but her talent shines through all the same.

The rock legend’s daughter. Eli Blue Savage grew up in the spotlight. Her father, Kirk Savage, is an icon in the music industry and exposed Eli to the highs and lows of rock-n-roll starting at a young age. Having a toxic, fame whore mother left Eli with no choice but to spend her adolescence on the road with her father as he did all he could to provide her with some sense of security and love. As hard as he tried to give her normal, Kirk wasn’t immune to the darker side of the rock star lifestyle. Despite a shattered youth, Eli Blue has grown into a powerful, strong minded female who is developing a name for herself beyond the shadow of her father’s legacy. Music is her world. It’s all she’s ever known, and it’s her only source of solace from the torment of her past.

The musician with a dark past. Deacon Chastain was raised in the foster care system, and as a result has grown up fighting to survive. A chance meeting with Kirk Savage sparked a desire and passion for music within Deacon that led him on a path towards salvation. Regardless of the obstacles, music is his saving grace.

Words cannot do justice to convey how phenomenal this story is. The first line of the prologue piqued my curiosity. Within two paragraphs I was swept away into the pages and taken on a journey of love, loss, and redemption. Anyone who has read these knows Sarah is ruthless in her ability to make you ugly cry. Weaving words together in such a masterful way that you find yourself emotionally invested in this story and these characters. You laugh when they do, you blush when things get steamy, and your heart absolutely fractures when events take a dramatic twist. The story shattered my soul only to piece it back together in an epilogue that is perfection and utter bliss.

I applaud Sarah Dosher for taking a risk and writing A Blue Tale. She stepped away from her existing series to write a standalone novel. She transitioned to a Contemporary Romance/New Adult genre from her previous Young Adult/New Adult publications. Her risks are my reward. I could not put this story down, and long (and I mean long) after finishing it, I cannot get it out of my mind. I could read this story over and over and it will never be stale. It has found it’s place on my “All Time Favorite Reads” list and Sarah Dosher has become one of my favorite authors. I am beyond thrilled to see what magic her mind will create next.

Sarah Dosher was born and raised in rural Oklahoma where she currently resides with her cowboy husband and twins (one cowboy and one cowgirl).

She is addicted to books and The Golden Girls. Her love for characters inspired her to write her first novel, Haven from the Storm.
