Blog Tour: Four Years Later by Monica Murphy

New Adult bestselling author Monica Murphy winds up her sensational series with this sexy story of two college kids with nothing in common but a bunch of baggage and a burning attraction.

Over. That about sums up everything in my life. Suspended from my college football team and forced to cut back my hours at The District bar because of my crappy grades, I can’t keep turning to my sister, Fable, and her pro-football playing husband, Drew, to bail me out. I just can’t seem to find my own way. Weed and sex are irresistible temptations—and it’s messed up that I secretly hand over money to our junkie mom. A tutor is the last thing I want right now—until I get a look at her.

Chelsea is not my type at all. She’s smart and totally shy. I’m pretty sure she’s even a virgin. But when she gives me the once over with those piercing blue eyes, I’m really over. But in a different way. I won’t deny her ass is killer, but it’s her brain and the way she seems to crave love—like no one’s ever given her any—that make me want her more than any girl I’ve ever met. But what would someone as seemingly together as her ever see in a screwed up guy like me?

5 Star Review

I fell in love with Owen as a young teen in One Week Girlfriend and  Second Chance Boyfriend. I was so excited when I found out he was getting his own book. He was brought up by a drug addicted mother and raised by his sister Fable. He is very protective of  Fable and will do anything make sure she is happy even if it means making himself miserable. You will understand what I mean once you read this amazing story. Will he ever be able to find happiness like Drew and Fable have or will he continue to live a life filled with weed and random girls?

Owen chooses not to follow Fable when she relocates to be with her husband Drew as he wants to stay in their hometown and be independent. He goes to college, plays football, and works tons of hours at The District. He likes to spend too much time partying and smoking pot with his friends and also has to deal with his crazy mother.. His grades start to drop and his coach is threating to kick him off the team. Drew, Fable and his counselor team up and decide he needs a tutor to help him stay on track so he can stay on the team.

Chelsea is a very intelligent, driven, socially inexperienced girl. She was brought up in a family where her father cheats and her mother just accepts it. She has preached to Chelsea that men are not worth the hassle but then always runs back to her husband when he and lets him treat her like a doormat. Chelsea steers clear of men as she doesn't want to end up like her mom.

I don’t matter. I’m not important. I’m just Owens friend.

The first meeting with his counselor Chelsea does not go well as they each have certain opinions about each other   There is an obvious attraction between the two of them but Chelsea is not Owen's type as he prefers a no-strings attached relationship.

”I want her but I don’t. I’m attracted to her though I shouldn’t be. I’m high and it’s not just from the weed. I’m also high on Chelsea.”

I loved the connection that Owen and Chelsea had. Even though at times they tried to push each other away because they were scared of commitment in the end they realized that together they could be happy and make through any situation. Everyone has flaws and makes mistakes in life but in order to be happy we need to accept people for who they are.

We’re not perfect, but we’re a perfect fit for each other.

I am so sad that this is the end of the One Week Girlfriend Quartet but am very grateful to Monica for sharing these amazing characters with us. I hope that someday she will give us a look into the future of Owen and Chelsea's relationship.
