Review Spotlight: A Single Kiss by Grace Burrowes

A Single Kiss by Grace Burrowes

3.5 Stars

Hannah plans on her career in corporate law.  When she is hired by the Knightley brothers she agrees to 6 months in domestic law to help out with a shortage of staff.  This is hard on Hannah because of her past in foster care.  She is a single mother and needs a job to feed her daughter.  Even though she dreads every day in domestic law she is works hard for her clients.  The cases are portrayed very realistically in this book.  Hannah's boss Trent is a nice person and always makes sure that Hannah is progressing well with her cases.  Throughout the story he becomes very interested in Hannah.  Trent is also a single parent.  There are some dark secrets that Hannah has and she does the best she can to keep them a secret.  Trent is such a gentleman because he is always patient with Hannah in work and in their relationship.

This would have been a 4 star read for me but the first 75% of the story moved very slow then in the last 25% all of the action happened.  And when it did happen it was all at once.  This caused the ending to feel very rushed.  If the action would have happened sooner in the story it would have helped us learn more about Trent and Hannah's relationship, Hannah would have had longer to deal with the things she learns about in her past, and added to the development of all of the characters.  Trent was portrayed as an old fashioned type male but some of the dialogue was too old fashioned and was out of place in the story.

We did learn about all of the the secrets that Hannah had from her past.  She was surprised with some revelations from her past.  There is a HEA.

I received a copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.  Read and Reviewed for Stories and Swag Blog.
